The A453 Churches takes in the 5 villages along the A453, Barton-in-Fabis, Gotham, Kingston-on-Soar, Ratcliffe-on-Soar, and Thrumpton.

To see where we are and to get directions to come by car, click on the map of the village below and you will be taken to the Google Maps website.

Parking at all our churches is on the main road and they are all accessible by disabled users. There are a couple of steps at the entrance of the churches in Barton, Kingston and Ratcliffe, but ramps are available. Assistance dogs (eg guide dogs, hearing dogs, dogs for the disabled) are very welcome.

Each church has stained glass (except Ratcliffe) and an organ. Bibles, large print hymn books and guidebooks are available in each of the churches.

By Train: All our churches are only a short taxi ride from East Midlands Parkway train station.
By Plane: We are only 7 miles (approximately) from East Midlands Airport.

St George, Barton-in-Fabis …

The church of St George is a Grade 1 listed building is open during various events throughout the year. For access at other times please get in touch.

Please note: There are no toilets in the church, but you can use the Village Hall across the road from the church.

By Car: We are approximately 7 miles from Junction 24 of the M1 motorway, and 8 miles from the centre of Nottingham. Get directions to St George’s, Barton-in-Fabis (external link).
 
By Bus: Local bus service 865 running between Clifton Park & Ride and Normanton-on-Soar stops a short distance from the Church. Please note: there is no bus service on a Sunday.

St Lawrence, Gotham …

The church of St Lawrence is a Grade 1 listed building which is open every Saturday from 10:00am to 12:00pm. For access at other times please get in touch.

There is easy wheelchair access into the church and the toilet, which includes baby changing facilities. We also have a loop system for the hard of hearing.

We have a weekly Sunday Club for children aged 4 to 12 years old in the Church Hall opposite the church. The church was re-ordered in 2010 with flexible seating and a servery allowing us to hold regular concerts and events.

By Car: We are approximately 7 miles from Junction 24 of the M1 motorway, and 8 miles from the centre of Nottingham. Get directions to St Lawrence, Gotham (external link).
 
By Bus: The South Notts 1 bus (NCT1) stops opposite Curzon Street and on Leake Road and it is a short walk from either stop to the Church. This service operates 7 days a week.

St Winifred, Kingston-on-Soar …

The church of St Winifred is a Grade 1 listed building which is open every day from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Please note: There are no toilets in the church, but you can use the Village Hall across the road from the church.

Holy Trinity, Ratcliffe-on-Soar …

The church of Holy Trinity is a Grade 1 listed building which is open every day from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Please note: There are no toilets in the church, and the church does not have any heating either, so please do wrap up warm in the winter months.

All Saints, Thrumpton …

The church of All Saints is a Grade 2* listed building which is open every Wednesday evening from 7:30pm to 9:00pm during bell ringing practice. For access at other times please get in touch. Other open times may also be posted on their village website or on their village noticeboard.

Please note: There are no toilets in the church, but you can use the Village Hall near to the church.
